Case Keenum’s First Start Since 2023 Creates a Monday Night Turnover Angle
Case Keenum is expected to make his first NFL start in nearly three years against Philadelphia on Monday night. His recent interception history, Chicago’s protection issues and the likelihood that the Bears eventually have to put the game in his hands make one turnover worth backing.

The read in 30 seconds
Chicago is turning to Case Keenum on Monday night with Caleb Williams ruled out because of a hamstring injury. Tyson Bagent cleared concussion protocol over the weekend, but after Keenum handled the first-team work for most of the practice week, NFL Network reported Monday that the veteran is expected to start against Philadelphia. It would be Keenum’s first regular-season start since December 2023.
That layoff alone is not enough to bet an interception. What makes this interesting is what Keenum looked like the last time he was asked to start NFL games. In two starts for Houston in 2023, he completed 34 of 53 passes for 291 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He threw one against Tennessee in his first start and two more the following week against Cleveland.
Across his career, Keenum has thrown 51 interceptions on 2,233 attempts, an interception rate of 2.3%, while making 66 starts. That is not an extreme turnover profile by itself, but tonight asks him to step directly from a long regular-season absence into a primetime start against a defense capable of making the quarterback hold the football and work through layered coverage.
What the market is pricing
At -130, we are laying a reasonable price for Keenum to make one costly mistake over four quarters.
The important distinction is that this bet does not require Philadelphia to dominate him from the opening drive or Keenum to have a disastrous stat line. He can complete a high percentage of his passes, move Chicago’s offense and still lose this prop on one late throw into coverage or one pressured decision.
Keenum’s most recent starting sample gives us reason to take that possibility seriously. He threw an interception in both of his 2023 starts for Houston, finishing those two games with three interceptions on 53 attempts. Now he returns to a regular-season starting role after nearly three years away from it.
The number becomes especially interesting if Philadelphia can force Chicago away from its preferred game plan. The Bears will likely want to protect Keenum with the run game, quick throws and manageable down-and-distance situations. But if the Eagles establish a lead, Chicago eventually has to open things up, creating more dropbacks and more chances for the defense to force the mistake we need.
